Everything you need to know before you order.
How long until my album ships?
Allow 7 to 12 business days in total between your order and delivery. Our print partner doesn't have a workshop in your country yet: your book is printed on demand abroad, then travels by international mail. That covers about a day of internal review on the artwork, making the album, shipping and customs. Customs may charge import taxes on delivery. We email you a tracking link as soon as it ships.
Do you deliver to my country?
More than 120 countries. All of Europe, North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, large parts of Asia, Africa and Oceania, plus French overseas territories. If your country shows up when you enter your shipping address, we deliver. Otherwise, write to contact@memorypencil.com and we'll look into it case by case.
What kind of photos can I use?
Any good-quality digital photo: portraits, family shots, holidays, pets. The sharper and better lit the photo, the more faithful the drawing will be. One exception: brand logos visible in a photo (on clothing, an object…) aren't reproduced in the illustration, to respect trademark rights. We replace them discreetly and the rest of the scene stays faithful to your photo.
Are my photos really deleted after delivery?
Yes. Your photos are only kept during processing (generation, printing, delivery), then automatically removed from our servers 7 days after delivery. They are never used for anything else.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Because every album is fully personalized, it can't be returned or exchanged. As a goodwill gesture, you can still cancel your order and get a full refund within 30 minutes of payment, from your order tracking page, as long as we haven't started creating the album. After that, or if anything is wrong with the album, email us at contact@memorypencil.com: we reprint and ship a replacement at our expense.
What if I'm not sure I want the printed book?
You can start with the digital version: the same personalized book delivered as a PDF, ready to download right away, from CHF 6.99. You see how your photos turn out without committing to the book, you keep the file, and you have 30 days to have it printed as a real bound book if you decide to, with the price of the PDF deducted. It's all explained on our dedicated digital version page.

What age is the album for?
Any age. Adults love it as a keepsake and as a quiet coloring break. For children, from about 3 years old for first scribbles, up to 10 or 12 for more precise coloring.
How does the photo-to-coloring process work?
Each photo becomes two pages in the album. On the left, a simplified color version that doubles as a keepsake and as a reference. On the right, the same image as a clean black-and-white outline, ready to color. We check every page before printing.
What if I don't like how a photo turns out?
As soon as your album is generated, you have 24 hours to swap any photos you're not happy with (2 on the 6-photo format, 4 on the 12-photo format, 8 on the 24-photo format), and freely adjust the cover, the dedication and the page order. Before anything is printed, our team reviews every album: it only goes to print once you genuinely love it.
What size is the album?
The album is a 21.6 × 21.6 cm square, the same across all formats: only the page count and the binding change. It lies nicely flat on the table, comfortable for coloring, and leaves plenty of room for the details of each illustration.
Is the paper suitable for markers?
We print on uncoated 90 gsm paper that takes pencils, pastels, and water-based markers well. For alcohol markers (Sharpie-style), slip a sheet of paper between pages, otherwise the back of the page gets ruined.
Where is the album made?
Memory Pencil is a French creation: the project, the team and the editorial review all sit in Paris. Printing and binding are handled by our print partner, who produces each album as close as possible to the delivery address. Orders delivered within France are printed in France in the vast majority of cases. We don't guarantee it order by order: during peak demand or maintenance, a book may be printed in another workshop. The paper, binding and format stay identical wherever it's printed.
