About this scene
The fog does all the work here: the closer a tree is, the darker and sharper it looks. Color the two big trunks on the left in strong reddish brown, then lighten each row of trees as you move toward the middle. Leave the center of the page almost white, and use bright greens for the leafy ground cover in front.
