About this scene
Only the closest trunks have clear black markings; the ones further back turn into gray shapes in the haze. Color the front birches first, white with dark patches, then shade the trees behind in very light gray and pale green. Finish with the grass in warm yellow green, a little brighter where the light lands in the middle.
